Talk to your AI. Skip the typing.

The best prompts are long and specific, and nobody types that much. Hold a key, say what you want, and TypeVoice types it into Claude Code, Cursor, ChatGPT or any terminal. It runs on your Mac, so your code and your prompts don't pass through anyone else on the way.

Where you prompt

Every place you talk to an AI.

TypeVoice types into the field you're in, the same way your keyboard does. No plugin, no extension, nothing to set up per app.

1

Claude Code and the terminal

Terminal, iTerm, Ghostty, Warp. Dictate the task, read it over, press Return.

2

Cursor and VS Code

The chat panel, the inline prompt, a commit message or a code comment.

3

Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini

Desktop apps and the browser alike. Long questions stop being a chore.

Built for it

Small things that matter when an AI reads your words.

›Refactor the export worker so retries back off, and add a test for the cold start case. (dictated with TypeVoice; spellings may be off)

A note so your AI doesn't chase typos

Turn on Style › Sign-off and every dictation ends with a line you choose. The model reads an odd spelling as speech, not as a file or function it should go looking for.

Add a name once and it lands right however it's heard. A built-in developer word pack already knows kubectl, ripgrep, Supabase, Tailscale and hundreds more.

Questions

Questions people ask.

Does TypeVoice work with Claude Code in the terminal?

Yes. It types into Terminal, iTerm, Ghostty, Warp and other terminals the same way your keyboard does, so it works with Claude Code, Codex, Aider or any other command-line tool.

Do my prompts leave my Mac?

TypeVoice itself sends nothing: speech becomes text on your Mac's Neural Engine. The text then goes wherever you typed it, so your AI app sends your prompt to its provider as it always does. TypeVoice adds no extra service in between.

Can it handle code words like kubectl or camelCase names?

A built-in developer word pack covers common tools, and your Dictionary handles your own names and terms. It's dictation for prompts and prose; it doesn't write code syntax for you.

What is the sign-off note for?

When an AI coding assistant sees an unusual spelling, it may assume it's a real identifier and go looking for it. A short line like "(dictated; spellings may be off)" tells it the text was spoken. You choose the wording in Settings › Style.
